I was reading some older comics last night that are evidently considered timeless classics – Grant Morrison’s run on New X-Men and Mark Millar’s Jupiter’s Legacy – and honestly, I thought both were kind of mediocre. The former surprised me because I usually like Morrison; I think the whole decision to end the Cyclops/Jean Grey relationship in lieu of the (ugh) Cyclops/White Queen one really put me off of this storyline. The latter I expected to either hate or love – that’s how I am with Millar; I loathed Kick Ass and Wanted, but thought Empress and Huck were fricking awesome – but the whole thing just felt rushed.
Meh. Different strokes, I suppose.
