And this is why every single attempt at maintaining a blog before now has failed. I just forget to update…
Anyway, Verge season 2 completed. The first half of the final session went well, the second kind of went blah. Set up for the next season is established: PCs are basically going to become privateers for the deposed princess and I’m going to use a radically reskinned Pirates of Drinax for some of the body.
Now working on pregame stuff for a different game that I’ll be running on Saturday. This game will be a GURPS: Monster Hunters game with a very loose overlay of the Dresden Files that will serve as a sort of spiritual successor to my previous face-to-face game, Red Sky, which eventually fell apart due to constant absences and the like. I’ve got an Obsidian Portal up but I’m not sharing it ’cause I need to radically redo it since I significantly altered my plan from the start. Essentially, the game is going to be set in the fictional town of Apocalypse, New Mexico (as portrayed by a version of Truth or Consequences, NM) that’s effectively sitting on top of a Hellmouth – Buffy fans will get the reference. PCs are going to be drawn there and then monster hunting hijinks will ensue. There is an existing Overplot, which means I have to fight my writing instincts to ensure I don’t turn it into a complete railroad. Will also be using Fantasy Grounds for this since one of the players is in Australia, one of them (I expect) is in Michigan, I think, and another potential is somewhere in the Soviet States of Canada. The other three are here in OKC, but that’s normal. I’ve currently got two really solid character concepts with partial characters complete, one wobbly concept, and three completely unknowns.
Wheee…
