Helped the best friend move his mother (who I jokingly but almost accurately refer to as a Mom Two) yesterday. I was told “there are just a couple of things left”, but I left my apartment around 09:15 and got home a little before 22:30 (10:30 pm). Doesn’t help that there was an hour and a half drive from old house to new one.
On the bright side, it was a serious calorie burning day so …
In the course of the upcoming Volume VI: Clean Slate of my ongoing Monster Hunters game set in the Dresden Files universe, a couple of the characters are going to get involved in “Blood Sugar,” which was originally a d20 Modern Adventure using the Urban Arcana campaign setting and written by Stan!

Despite my brain still churning over Traveller stuff, it looks like I will be taking the GM reins for the Friday face-to-face group in two weeks, which is right before GenCon. My current intent is to use that pre-GenCon week to work through character stuffs and maybe do some “fight club” – having Lee fight the new guy is inevitable, but with our rejiggering of Mat, he’s clearly going to have to get into a John Wick firefight. This way, when we come back the week after GenCon, the players have had at least a little time re-familiarizing themselves with the PCs. But that’s not all I have to get ready which means I really need to get off my butt and get to work.
Things I think I need to accomplish:
- Figure out what to do for Colin & Sofia in Session 2.
- Stats for “sugar slave” in Session 3 (for OSBI encounter) though truthfully, this is probably just a Red Shirt Cop with a Zombie template attached to it. I suppose I could just use the Fast Zombie from MH3 p14 and just add heat & water vulnerabilities. Yeah. Let’s do that.
- Figure out the nature of the Three Pursuers in session 3 (Colin)
- Stats for “candy golems” (both Small and Huge.) Also need stats for the Cultists, but I’ll probably just use my previous Shooters while reducing their equipment. This is likely going to be my next project.
Is it wrong of me to want to play in a game where something this awesome happens and my character is right there in the middle?
Was in the process of mining old adventures for the Traveller campaign and I stumbled upon this old thing. Written by Jeff Grubb and Owen Stephens back in 2002, Tempest Feud is a really big three-part adventure where the PCs get involved in some Hutt shenanigans revolving around a new drug (“Tempest”). I’ve actually run some of this before in an actual d20 Star Wars campaign that sort of died out. At first glance, this doesn’t entirely seem to fit, what with Force powers and Hutt cartels, and all that, but then, when I started reading through it again and the synapses began firing again.

To my very great frustration, rather than focusing on Red Sky, my GURPS: Monster Hunters game, my brain has been focusing on our currently ongoing Traveller campaign that I’m probably going to take over from the current GM (which means that there will have been four GMs for this campaign as we keep rotating the duties. I’ve already mentioned the planned “black hole-not a black hole” adventure previously, and this one will take place after it.

In sessions 4 and 5 of “Clean Slate,” a gathering of vampires is intended to take place. Depending on how I proceed with the actual meeting, there may or may not be a handful of these creatures present who can serve as “mooks.”

I like this trailer less than the first one, but still, this movie looks like it’s going to a lot of fun. And Hulk speaks!
There’s no way this isn’t a Reboot. Look at those lens flares! But otherwise, looks more Enterprise than TOS, so that’s interesting. That said, I hate the Klingon redesign.
